Made from our own material and paid by card. Gauges and templates ship in three to five days anywhere in canada; free over $150, otherwise $15.

Hard edge

Machined edge trim for drywall reveals and transitions, supplied as stock. 100 ft of hard edge per profile; four weeks lead time. Profiles we do not already run are quoted.

Concealed hinge fit gauges

Check mortise, reveal and clearance without unboxing the hardware. Made to fit Simonswerk Tectus TE 240, TE 340 and TE 540, and FritsJurgens System M and System 3.

Send the model and the hardware or its spec sheet. We develop and print the gauge, and the first one is yours. At least two weeks once we have the hardware.

Flush-mount cutout templates

Locate and rout cutouts for flush electrical, switching and data plates, HVAC registers and access panels. Made to fit Bocci 22 System; others on request.

Gauges and templates are dimensional aids only: colour-coded, not load bearing, not for installation. Compatibility and trademark details are in the fine print.

Have it drawn or designed

$300 minimum. Two weeks. Send whatever you have; sketches are fine.

Shop drawings and cut lists

Drawn from your design or sketches, ready for your shop or ours. Quoted as a fixed price before we start.

Assembly fixtures, drilling templates, profile sanding backers, connector locators. First article included; reorders from $45.

The fine print

Sheet and edge material

Per-sheet rates cover standard sheet goods, and banding rates cover standard tape and solid edge. Oversize, extra-thick or unusual material is quoted.

Files we accept

DXF, DWG, STEP, Microvellum native data, or a cut list on our template. Nests should carry 0.6 inch between parts and 0.5 inch to the sheet edge, and mark which edges are banded and with what. Files that need fixing are billed at the drafting rate in 30 minute increments.

Material and breakage

Sheet stock, tape and solid wood stock are supplied by you unless agreed otherwise; we can quote supplying either. Send 10% extra edge material. We recommend one spare sheet of each material; without one, a defective sheet holds your job until it is replaced. Defects in supplied material are at your risk, and parts cut wrong because of errors in your files are re-cut at our normal rates. Normal process loss, up to 3% of parts, is re-cut from your spares at no charge. If we make a mistake beyond that, we re-machine at no charge and replace the material we damaged, up to the machining charges on that job. Hard edge, gauges and templates are made from our own material.

Drafting

Drafting is quoted as a fixed price before we start. Some drafting is done with trusted partners under confidentiality agreements, and every drawing is reviewed by our team before it reaches you.

Scheduling

Trade work is scheduled around our project commitments. The date we confirm at quote is the date we hold to.

Pickup, delivery and shipping

Machine work is collected from our Surrey shop, or delivered locally by arrangement. Gauges and templates ship anywhere in canada; free over $150, otherwise $15 flat.

Payment

Credit card accepted up to $5,000 per job; above that, bank transfer. New accounts prepay or pay on collection, with net terms available on approval. Gauges and templates are paid by card at the time of order.

Gauges, templates and trademarks

Fit gauges and templates are dimensional aids only. They are marked and colour-coded so they cannot be mistaken for hardware, they are not load bearing, and they are not for installation. Compatibility is listed by tested model only; tell us the model you need and we will confirm before you order. When we develop a gauge for a new model, we keep the design and may add it to our range.
